Alright I can’t stand it any longer. Here is our new front door. We replaced the old one in November! When we moved in we replaced all the old door knobs and when we got to the front door we found out that whoever put it in drilled the knob hole crooked. Also, it was drilled way over toward the center of the door and they no longer make knob extenders for our door knobs. So we decided to start fresh give the house a little pick me up and buy a new door.
Then, I debated and changed my mind and debated on color for the doors. And I went with a color way out of my comfort zone. So without further ado here is the final result!
While painting this door I decided I was not going to wait to decide if I liked it or not I would paint the kitchen door too! Go big or go home! We chose Valspar’s Poetic Purple.
Here it is after! BOOM!!! On the front door the trim around needs to be painted but it has been raining and humid which doesn’t go over well for paint so it will have to wait.
What do you think? Have you ever gone for a paint color that you weren’t 100% about? And loved the result?

I love love LOVE this!!!!! What a glorious result from such a bold choice 🙂 You should persuade Eric to paint our front door purple, that would be amazing!
I will do my best! Gunnar even really likes the color so I’ll have him talk to Eric 😉
What a neat arietlc. I had no inkling.
Loooooooooooove it! Were both of your doors made out of wood? I wonder about painting my back door, which might be wood, but am too lazy to check 🙂
I had one of each. The front door was metal and the kitchen door was an old wooden dutch door.
