My Holiday Travel Essentials

November 17, 2015

Holiday Travel EssentialsEach year at the holidays we do a lot of traveling, my family is located around Cincinnati, Ohio and Gunnar’s family is around Chicago, Illinois. Right now we are able and willing to do all the driving to hit up the different sides of the state during the holidays. While we don’t mind traveling there are things that I love to take with me that make me feel like at home and those are my holiday travel essentials.

Sketch Book – I always feel like I do most of my brainstorming when I’m on the road, or Gunnar and I are talking about some big idea that we have had and my sketch book is always on hand to document these  ideas or sketch out my next project.

My Pen Case – Along with the sketch book I try to carry a variety of pens, pencils, and markers so I can draw out these ideas or other sketches while celebrating the holidays.

iPad – I just got this and I love it. 🙂 It is going to be really nice carrying one that has several books and magazines around rather than all the individual books, I love books but they are heavy and take up a lot of space.

Chapstick – My lips get very chapped in the winter time. It is like they know that cold weather is coming and just dry up. So I always try to carry some in my coat pockets and purses. I love the eos brand because the shape of the ball makes it really easy to find in the depths of my purse.

Hand Lotion- Like my lips my skin also gets really dry and the skin around my finger nails gets dried out so I always have a little bottle of hand lotion in my purse and apply generously to help fight off the dryness.

Headphones – I think headphones are really important because you may end up in a situation where you want to watch or listen to something different than the group you have these puppies ready to go.

A Simple Cardigan – During the holidays you are in and out of different buildings and your car so much that I find it hard to dress warm enough in some situations, so I keep a cardigan at hand to throw on if the temperature is a little chilly for me, but it is easy to take off in case I get too warm.
