It was a wonderful weekend hanging out with my family. We had two fun parties to throw this weekend and both were great successes. We first had my nieces first birthday party on Saturday night, then on Sunday we celebrated a wonderful milestone. My grandparents celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
They were both born in 1925 and were married in 1945. They grew up during the depression, saw WWII come and go, saw the new millenium and have grown to love each other more.
We had a wonderful reception followed by a dinner for family. Not only did we throw the party we did the catering for the reception on our own. It was fun and exciting the best part had to be the grandparents had the best time. They really enjoyed getting together with all their friends and then spending the evening with their family. It was a wonderful time we got to enjoy with family and friends.
I enjoyed getting the chance to take detailed shots of the tables and decor prior to the reception and candid photos of guests during the reception. It allowed me to practice taking more pictures. Something that is on my 25 before 26 list! I did realize however that by the end of the night even though my battery had lots of charge it had died right before the end of the party…. this girl is getting a back up battery! I can’t wait for my next opportunity to take lots of pictures!
