Frogmore Stew

June 12, 2012

Hello everyone! We have some friends who have roots to the deep south and frogmore stew is a familiar dish that is served. Despite the name frogmore stew has zero frogs in it and doesn’t really resemble a stew as you can see in the pictures above. The dish is a seafood boil consisting of sausage, corn, potatoes, and shrimp. This may seam simple but the flavor is delicious (I add a little butter; it makes everything better…right?).

This party started at their house when they were in the process of building and it has grown and grown over the years to where they now use a community building to host the party. Everyone has a great time and looks forward to coming back the next year. They start out the evening by serving fresh steamed clams which everyone shells for themselves and then comes the frogmore stew dumped from steaming buckets onto tables for guests to enjoy. This is a great dish to eat on your patio this summer!
