December Daily 2015 has arrived! This was one of my favorite new projects in 2014. If you are unfamiliar with December Daily it is a kit put together by Ali Edwards and while you can use it any way you want it is set up for you to tell one story a day from December 1st to December 25th. I used it last year to document our first Christmas as husband and wife. It was an incredible amount of fun and since I documented it outside of my Project Life album I was really able to showcase all the activities we participated in and how we celebrated the season.
I had only planned on doing the book last year and just using the Project Life album to document Christmases in the future. However, if you have been reading for a little while you will know that our world was turned upside down earlier this year when Gunnar took a new position in a new city and we moved from our 3 bedroom home to a 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Indianapolis.
Now that we are coming into the holiday season and have a whole bunch of new experiences ahead of us, I wasn’t about to quit documenting our Christmases in a special way. So I bought the 2015 kit and am SO excited about it. I can’t wait to use the different elements in my book like the wood veneer trees and snowflakes.
The album and page protectors haven’t come in yet so I have spent my time organizing all my supplies. This way in my tiny one bedroom apartment I can keep track of everything I’ll need to work on my book and be able to easily move it from storage to where I’m working on it.
I put all the small embellishments in a jumbo muffin pan, which I sat in a wire paper organizer and then dispersed the papers, stickers and stamps around the outside of the basket. I did something like this last year with my kit and it made it really easy to use the embellishments throughout the month. Once the album and page protectors come in I’ll share with you the second step in my December Daily preparations.
How do you document your Christmas traditions?
