Beer Tasting Party

February 16, 2012

Last month I set out to accomplish one of the goals that appears on my yearly goal list. I threw my first beer tasting party. I made the invitations and sent them out through email. We provided the food and our guests were to bring 2 types of beer enough for about 10 people to taste.

Here is our menu. Appetizers: Carrot, Celery Sticks, Chips and Homemade Ranch Dip. Main Course: Prime house Sirloin Steak and Cornbread Muffins.  Dessert: Geneva Cookies (Yummy!). The evenings activities included the tasting and video games.

It was an experience, a good one but nothing went as planned so for my next one I know what needs to change. Our guests weren’t all able to make it and the ones who did show up didn’t get there until way after the start time and were so staggered that a tasting didn’t really work out. The weather didn’t cooperate and people had to go home earlier than planned but getting together eating good food and drinking beer was so much fun. We will be doing this again I am sure! Here is a peek of my invitation.
